KETU: THE GREAT DOWNER

Ketu & the Houses: The Game played by the Ketu in our life:

First let us study the characteristics of Ketu:

1. The Ketu would treat the Sun and Moon as its major opponent. Both the Sun and Moon will completely lose their power, when they move closer proximity towards the Kethu.

2. The Ketu represents the Spiritualistic life and goals.

3. The Ketu does not own any houses in the Zodiac Sign. Hence the Kethu will mirror the qualities of the House Lord, where it is being placed.

4. The Kethu will take nearly 18 months to cross a single Zodiac sign. Hence it will take exactly 18 years to complete a journey around the Zodiac signs.

5. The Kethu will move in the anticlockwise direction. Both the Rahu and Ketu will keep equidistance among themselves @ they maintain 180 degrees between themselves.

6. The Ketu has the 3rd, 7th and 11th views from its place.

The Kethu, the Great Downer:

The Ketu is considered to be the strongest planet among all the 9 planets. The Ketu would tranquilize any planet that has closer proximity towards the Kethu. Thus the Ketu would immobilize the associated planet @ the Ketu would sedate, anesthetic, soak or squeeze any planet, which is placed on its way. Thus all the planets would be partially (or) completely be paralyzed and would be unable to deliver its qualities. The Ketu has the capacity to create a complete stagnation (or) a stalemate in the life of the natives. Thus the Ketu has the capacity to create a "moribund status" of the native's life on the qualities that should have been delivered by the tranquilized planet.

Note: The Ketu would become extremely active towards the Sun & Moon @ the Sun and Moon would completely lose their power to the Ketu.

Effects of activities done during the Yama Kandam (Period under the Kethu's influence):

1. Any talks and discussion started during the Yama Kandam would end in a stalemate (or) remain inconclusive.

2. The business started during the Yama Kandam would produce stagnating results @ the growth would be shunted.

3. A product introduced to the market during the Yama Kandam fails to achieve the targets.

4. An interview being attended during the Yama Kandam would produce painfully slower results.

5. Any patient who start his journey towards the Hospital (or) starts medical treatment during the "Yama Kandam" would not be able to get any significant improvements in their health condition.

Ketu, the Great Downer (The Effects of having Ketu in the houses):

1. The Ketu's closer proximity towards the Lagna (or) the Lagna lord would compress the native's personality @ the native would respond in a slower manner. The native's ability to memorize informations and the ability to retrieve the information from his/her memory would be painstakingly slow @ the native's reflexes would be at a lower level.

2. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 2nd house lord would create stutter in the speeches (or) create problems in communicating; and could produce squint eyes (or) problems in the eyes; and could create health issues in the ears/nose. This could also create lifeless relationship with the family members. The native would remain a slow learner; and sometimes creates "autism".

3. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 3rd house lord would create problems in the neck leading to minimal eating (or) problems in swallowing. This would create husky voices too. This would cloud their self confidence level; and could affect their sexual ability.

4. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 4th house lord would create breathlessness; (or) create numbness around the chest (or) in the hands. This would also create stagnation on their lifestyle. This would make it impossible for the natives to utilize and enjoy their own declared assets. This would create freeze in the ties with their mother.

5. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 5th house lord would create numbness (or) health issues around their back especially in the spinal areas. This would create stagnating results during their college level education. The natives would experience inordinate delay in getting any of their expectation to materialize. The natives would face stagnating position on getting any good career opportunities. The natives would experience frozen ties with their children.

6. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 6th house lord would create stagnation in the level of their chronic illness @ the natives would not be able to see any significant reduction in the level of their chronic illness. The debt levels fails to get reduced too. This would create numbness in the areas around the stomach.

7. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 7th house lord would create frozen ties with the life partner. This would create lifeless ties with the business partners (or) colleagues (or) associates. This would create numbness in the areas around the lower part of the stomach.

8. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 8th house lord would create troubles putting the natives to believe that the death will bring in more comfort rather than living in this world. This would also create health troubles in the areas around the waist (urinal/bowel/vaginal/genital).

9. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 9th house lord would create stagnation on the living/working/studying in a foreign country: (or) immigrating to a foreign country. This would also create frozen ties with the father and the maternal relatives. This would also create weakness (or) numbness in the thighs (legs).

10. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 10th house lord would create stagnating position on the career growth; (and/or) the natives may not have the direct control over their profession. This would also create health issues around the knees.

11. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 11th house lord would create delays (or) hurdles in getting back their payments. The natives would face the prospect of staggered payments (or) partial payments; they would remain disappointed with their profit margins, as the margins remain stagnant for longer period of time.

12. The Ketu's closer proximity to the 12th house lord would make the natives to remain dependant on others to meet their budget needs. The natives would have disturbed sleep and diet. The natives would remain dissatisfied with their sexual life. They would experience weakness (or) health issues around the feet.

 Intensity of the Kethu factor:

1. The above mentioned results are applicable (at variable levels), if the Ketu is placed in the above mentioned houses from the Lagna (Rising sign).

2. The Intensity of the above results are likely to increase (at variable levels), if the Ketu is placed alongside the house lord in the any Zodiac sign.

3. The intensity of the above results are likely to increase, if the Ketu is placed in the same Star (Nakshatra) along with the House Lord.

4. The intensity of the above mentioned results increases further, if both the Ketu and the House Lord is placed in the same path within the same Nakshatra.

5. The intensity of the Kethu increases manifold, if the Ketu is placed within +/- 03.20.00 degrees from the planet.

6. The intensity of the Kethu increases further, if the house lord (whom the Ketu is associated) is traversing in the Aswini, Magha and Moola Nakshatras.

8. The planets who are within the purview of 3rd, 7th and 11th house views of the Ketu would also feel the increased intensity of the Ketu as their "Great Downer".

In the next post, we will study the impact of Ketu's association with other planets.

WHAT IS NAKSHATRA SANDHI?

As we know the word Sandhi means the Junction or meeting place. Hence the Nakshatra Sandhi means the meeting point of two Nakshatras. There are 27 Nakshatras that are taken into consideration in the Hindu Vedic Astrology. The Moon travels through each Nakshatras starting from Aswini and ending in Revathi. But the movement is a continious basis. Thus after completing the journey through all the 27 stars, the Moon exits the Revathi Nakshatra and again starts its next round of journey from Aswini, without any break. Thus the Moon goes around the 27 Nakshatras on a continous basis. The entry and exit time of the Moon into the 27 Nakshatras varies around 24 hours. The Last 48 minutes or 2 Naligai (Naligai is a measure of time that equals 24 minutes) during the entry and exit into a Nakshatra by the Moon is called as "Nakshatra Sandhi". This Nakshatra Sandhi period is highly inauspicious time. Example: Suppose the Moon is exiting the Hastham Nakshatra at 8.59 am and enters
